Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Griffin.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
A high-end luxurious salon just outside of Davis Square. I am a mom of three. Sarah, my 17-year-old step-daughter, Logan my 3.5-year-old, and miss Tatum, my 2-year-old. I am married to the most amazing man, Marcos, who is my rock and my number one supporter! I am always trying to find the perfect balance of being a boss lady and a mom. With the help of my hubby, I think we ‘ve got it down!
From the moment I could hold a hairbrush I was all about it. Braiding, curling, and yes crimping!! Before I attended beauty school. I always knew that I wanted to own my own salon. My husband, Marcos was always my number one fan, pushing me and motivating me! I worked in a few Boston salons, before opening my own. I wanted it to be different. I wanted the focus to be on education and building my fellow stylists.
I wanted it to be a family! I can definitely say with confidence, I have my tribe! We have been open for 5.5 years and will be soon doubling in size. Our clients are amazing and inspire us each and every day. I am in love with this industry and love the passion I see through my stylists. We are a boutique salon that books out about 2 months. We specialize in balayage, vivid colors, textured cuts and of course wedding hair. We have won Best of Boston, Best of Improper and have been published twice in Allure Magazine.
Please tell us about your art.
I am a hairstylist. I specialize in natural balayage and beautiful wedding hair. I love making women look and feel glamorous inside and out. By changing someone’s hair, I am literally changing their confidence level. I am always educating myself and my staff. This industry is always changing and so should we!! We want all of our clients to leave the salon feeling incredible and nothing less!!
Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
Never give up. It takes time to build, but as long as you surround yourself by amazing people and continue to educate yourself you can do anything! Finding your right tribe is key!!
