Meet Lea Decoteau of Your Bridge To Healing in Middlesex County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lea Decoteau.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I began my career as a physical therapist, but my professional journey truly began in 1997 when I took my first Reiki class! Reiki is a form of energy healing, a hands-on healing technique that guides the energy which flows naturally through the body to where it’s most needed for physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual healing. When I took the Reiki class, I was a Mom with four young children.

While I felt drawn to this natural healing art, I loved devoting my life to my family. Life was crazy busy, and I used Reiki only occasionally for many years. When my children were grown, and I returned to physical therapy, a member of my family was battling cancer. One day, I received a call from my friend, Rose, who was a Full Spectrum Energy Medicine practitioner. She asked if she could see him, and said she already felt a connection with him although they hadn’t met. Using energy healing techniques, Rose brought peace, comfort, and love to my entire family….. and re-sparked my interest in energy healing.

Soon after, I began my quest to learn about energy healing in its many forms. I explored various approaches for several years and found the more I learned, the more energy healing resonated with me. I ultimately became a Reiki Master Teacher, Integrated Energy Therapy Master Instructor, and studied Transformational Healing with Sai Maa, a renowned spiritual master, and healer.

What I’ve come to realize, though, is that it all energy healing techniques are virtually the same, as they are based on healing with love and light. Through no coincidence, when Rose experienced a family tragedy, I reached out and offered energy healing to help her through this difficult time, bringing peace, comfort, and love to her. It’s just one example of the connectedness we feel when practicing energy healing, experiencing how our lives intertwine, and how relationships happen for a reason.

Since energy healing blends seamlessly with traditional medicine, I incorporated energy healing into a few physical therapy treatments. What I found was that these were the patients who recovered almost completely, and this truly highlighted the mind, body, spirit connection for me.

In 2013, I decided to transition from a physical therapist to an energy healer, opened Your Bridge To Healing, and asked Rose to work with me! In the last five years, Rose and I have partnered with clients, each for their own unique reason but all with a common desire to heal, feeling nurtured, supported, and empowered in our heart-centered healing practice. We feel honored to share our love of energy healing with our clients, guiding each one across their own bridge to healing and personal transformation.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In the beginning, my biggest challenge was to completely own my decision to open Your Bridge To Healing. I remember trying to tell my husband that I wanted to open an energy healing center, and it took a while for me to actually get the words out… in a whisper. I wondered if alternative healing would seem a bit “out there,” and I wasn’t sure if I would embarrass my family and friends by taking this step. I received nothing but encouragement from my husband, however, the reaction of others close to me was a bit more incredulous.

When I met with my attorney to create Your Bridge To Healing, LLC, I was again hesitant as I told her my plan. Using her wisdom and experience, she had me restate my mission more emphatically, and that moment was a crucial turning point. I learned that I had to get to the point where I didn’t just believe in what I was doing, but I could no longer allow other people’s skepticism to impact the pursuit my passion and my dream. Being a healer is part of who I am…. and my calling.

Our biggest challenge, even now, is to get people to give energy healing a try. It’s really impossible to understand the potential benefits of energy healing unless you’ve experienced it. Because energy healing can seem mystical or nebulous, it’s a challenge, when clients are deciding where to seek help, to get them to take that first step and call us at Your Bridge To Healing. We are constantly striving to help people to understand what we do, in order to feel comfortable choosing us for their healing needs. Once they do, though, we find that our clients experience a deeper understanding of themselves, a sense of inner peace, and a vision of hope for how radiant their lives can be. We are grateful for their initial curiosity and eventual commitment to energy healing for the mind, body, and spirit!

I remember wondering aloud if I would have one person walk through my door, and said to my husband that if it’s only one, opening Your Bridge To Healing will still be worth it. Five years later, our clients number in the hundreds! This is heart-warming to Rose and me, knowing we’ve helped and guided people along their journey of healing. Even more special to us is how honored we feel that our clients have touched our lives with their trust and open hearts.

We’d love to hear more about your business.

One of our specialties and a part of what we do that we truly love and take great pride in is integrating music into every healing session. We immerse clients more deeply in their healing sessions using music as a natural and powerful adjunct to energy healing. I believe it’s the blend of energy healing, music integration, and our caring approach that sets us apart at Your Bridge To Healing. We are proud to be a heart-centered healing practice, known for providing a magical and memorable healing experience for our clients.

Your Bridge to Healing is my lifeline! I recently became a Reiki Master thanks to Lea, she is an amazing teacher. If you live in the area, you need to come in for a Reiki treatment. I have been going here since they opened several years ago for workshops as well as Reiki Treatments. Thank you Lea and Rose!
