Today we’d like to introduce you to LauraJean Pecci.
LauraJean, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I fell in love with flowers fifteen years ago, working at a boutique floral shop in Boston. Since then, after years of wedding and event experience, I developed my own design voice and style- floristry that lives in the space between movement & stillness, detail & texture, organic life & foraged product.
LauraJean Floral is full service floral company creating designs with detail, love, and a floral grace. Our team works with seasonal flowers, local farms and nearby vendors to produce arrangements that are naturally lush, ethereal, and organic. Our headquarters are located in our beautiful Cambridge, MA shop and floral studio, Observatory. We also have a floral studio on Cape Cod, and have designed flowers for weddings all over New England and beyond. Our passion and focus is in celebrating the uniqueness and beauty of every blossom and every client we work with.
Has it been a smooth road?
Floral design is a crazy wild adventure- which has always kept things so interesting. Every year nature brings new challenges… whether it’s a cream dahlia shortage or tree blossoms that pop too soon, working with natural elements can be a task in itself, especially with climate change and the strength of this sun.
I am so attracted to the challenges though- especially those that come with destination weddings installations (stormy boat rides, perilous mountain setups, etc.) because they usually make for the best and funniest stories.
Starting a business can be a struggle; working with perishable product can add to those stresses; but I have been so fortunate to have a best friend and business partner in our shop location, Nicole Rueda Watts, who has been beside me every step of the way, with a glass of rose and shoulder to cry on when needed.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the LauraJean floral & design story. Tell us more about the business.

What sets us apart is our experience and artistry. I have 15+ years of experience as a floral designer and work with a wonderful team of designers, contractors, and artists who are experts in their fields. Our approach at Laura jean floral is unique in that we tell stories with our floral designs- we celebrate the blossoms and textures with movement and purpose in our compositions. We incorporate fresh, seasonal, and product to inspire and evoke the senses.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The floral design field is definitely growing. I see a shift more towards greenery and purpose in design. We are also noticing and loving the change of focus in regards to the events we create florals for- the focus has been more on creating a mood throughout each event and setting the scene- which we L.U.V.
