Today we’d like to introduce you to Kerri Miller.
Kerri, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My journey with Feng Shui started 20 years ago. I had just moved into a new condo and was still settling in when I stumbled on some books about Feng Shui in the book store. I was intrigued with the thought that I could deliberately arrange my new space so that it was supporting me and helping to create the life I wanted with ease. I figured, what the heck?! And gave it a try.
I made a few changes and adjustments and the whole space felt better instantly, but more importantly, things really started to shift in my life. Initially I received a new job offer, started dating again, and got the opportunity to do some travelling. Within a few short years, my life had changed direction entirely – I moved to Southern California and dove into a whole new field of study as a Holistic Practitioner and Energy Healer.
In perfect synchronicity, I eventually realized that I had just moved to the same town where there was a school that taught Feng Shui. I signed up as soon as I could! I knew that Feng Shui would be one of the tools I offered in my practice.
Fast forward to today and Feng Shui has become the focus of my practice, I show people how their surroundings are impacting all the parts of their life and I guide them in shifting and aligning the natural energies around them so they can live their best life. I absolutely love the work I get to do!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I wouldn’t call it a bumpy road, but it sure has taken a few unexpected turns!
In the beginning we were relocating often and it always felt like I had to rebuild in each location. Every time I had to find new resources, new networks, and spend time getting the word out about the work I do. The internet has changed that game, now I can work with anyone, anywhere at any time and where I’m located doesn’t matter. There’s freedom in that.
Finding a work/family/life balance took some effort too. I wanted it all but if often felt like one of those three had to take the back burner while the others got attention. It took lots of tweaking to set up my work so it allowed me guilt-free time with my family or just with myself! It finally feels like it’s all flowing.
Part of solving the struggle above was learning to ask for support where I needed it and receiving it when it was offered. Trying to do it all myself led to immediate burnout on all fronts. Today, I’m surrounded by an amazing network that I can reach out to for support, whether it’s babysitters, technical support, or just encouragement. It has made all the difference in the world – it really does take a village!
Initially it also seemed like a struggle to get people to understand Feng Shui and the benefits of the work I do. Now, sharing that message and teaching people about how their surroundings impact them is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Feng Shui Pathways – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I founded Feng Shui Pathways to help people create spaces that feel better, flow better and are energetically uplifting (instead of distracting or depleting!) I believe that your surroundings should support and inspire you! They should energize you so you have more to give to all the parts of your life!
As a Feng Shui expert, I help you see how the unseen energies, and the things you keep in your surroundings, impacts the work you do, the money you make, the relationships you have, the joy you express, your overall health and well-being and so much more.
I offer Feng Shui Assessments for homes and work spaces, either on-site or virtually (through a video call). This includes a tour of the space, a review of intake forms and floor plans, and a review of suggested changed.
Like many other Feng Shui Practitioners, I used to follow up the initial tour with a written plan of action, but I could see that people weren’t getting optimal results this way. Now, when you book an Assessment with me you’ll get a custom plan for your personal situation and floor plan, and can choose from varying levels of support and guidance (from 6 weeks to a full year) to help you implement the suggested adjustments.
Working this way allows me to really connect with you, your goals, and your surroundings on a much deeper level. I’m able to help you
– get clarity about what you truly want in all of your life areas
– release the things in your space that are depleting your personal energy or distracting you from what you want
– identify where energy is stuck and get it moving again
– correct for imbalanced energies caused by hallways, staircases, bathrooms, high ceilings and more
– enhance areas that need more support
– arrange your furniture in the most energetically supportive way
– implement suggested adjustments correctly
– tweak the plan as things shift into place
– make sure you get the best results from the whole process
One thing I’ve learned from years of working with clients is that Feng Shui is not just about moving stuff around, it’s about moving energy. Sometimes it might feel a bit chaotic at first. Sometime you get results that are unexpected. Sometimes the plan changes right in the middle as you get more clarity from the new flow. I’m there to help you adjust through all of this and I stay on board to help you see the changes through. Since I’ve been working with clients this way, the results have been exponentially better. And it’s truly fulfilling for me to see the end result.
I’ve also recently written a book about Feng Shui: “Feels Better. Flows Better. Feng Shui for Inspired Living” is a hands-on guide to creating spaces that feel better and flow better. It’s designed to help you see your home and the stuff you surround yourself with in a whole new way. It will give you a deeper understanding of how you’re outside environment impacts your ability to thrive in all areas of your life. I’m happy to share my view of Feng Shui in it and help introduce others to this powerful resource.
I also offer a few different online group programs each year, including “The Feng Shui Prosperity Intensive”, “The 8 Week Feng Shui Master Class”, and “Applying Feng Shui Basics at Home”. These programs are a great way to learn about Feng Shui and get to know the work that I do. The dynamics of practicing what you learn in a group setting is always a benefit too.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I think there are exponential benefits to working 1:1 with a Feng Shui Expert, but I have to limit the number of clients I work with. So right now I’m working on making more online resources available.
This includes some e-books on specific topics like using the bagua map, the effect of clutter, and Feng Shui tips for individual rooms.
I’m also making some of my online programs “evergreen” so that people can access them at their convenience. Ultimately, I plan to make a full content library available that will include articles and videos people can access and learn from at their own pace.
I feel like these are all powerful ways to share the benefits of Feng Shui, especially with those that can’t work 1:1 at this time.
Two other things that are in the works are (1) a new Feng Shui Intensive program where I’ll take a small group through the process of Feng Shui-ing each room of their home in an online group format and (2) some collaborations with other Healers and Coaches to take clients to a whole new level of shift and alignment using multiple modalities.
