Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathie Chrisicos.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Kathie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I had a significant early chapter in business, but a move to Boston prompted my training and focus on Interior Design. From there Chrisicos Interiors was born. That was fifteen years ago, and I have never looked back thanks to clients here and across the country.
Last year, with a large number of clients in Back Bay, I took the step to open my design studio and retail space: Chrisicos Interiors at the Park Plaza Building. From every vantage point, I have design and retail clients: The Four Seasons, The Heritage on the Garden, One Charles and Millennium Towers. It’s a great neighborhood, and I am proud to be a part of it. We will soon celebrate our first anniversary!
Has it been a smooth road?
The struggle to remain in demand has only one solution: the customer. My goal is to anticipate the needs of the client amidst a changing marketplace. I opened my Park Plaza studio to meet the growing demand for customization and to offer product and lines which are rare to the public. With custom furnishings you are meeting the exact needs of your client, rather than approximating their desired design aesthetic. My clients love that I work between Boston and New York, for I am well acquainted with sourcing material in both cities.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Chrisicos Interiors – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a full-service interior design firm with projects in Boston and across the country. I lead all projects, and we’re involved in every aspect of interior design, from renovation and new construction to turn-key installation and relocation services.
We specialize in custom furnishings and the strong demand for putting a new spin on modern interiors. We oversee design projects from concept to completion, and in the process we solve proportion issues with custom upholstery pieces, accent furniture, case goods and accessories. We focus on attention to detail, clear and concise communication and a budget respectful of work ethic.
I am proud to share my design vision in the heart of Back Bay. In the shop, I love introducing someone to simple pleasures such as my favorite candle, and I am grateful that some of these moments have led to highly fulfilling design collaborations. It makes me happy to have people shop the studio for a wide array of hostess gifts and accessories not to mention inspiration! I thrive on the balance of client work and creating the design offerings – along with rewarding client connections – within our studio on Park Plaza.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The pace of Boston, the growth of neighborhoods and the excitement we are seeing with change all around us – from fine dining to seeing invigorating energy while walking our favorite streets. I am enthralled with the movement, sounds and views throughout this amazing city.
I am not a big fan of the colder months, but that is when our studio becomes a haven for cozy design details so that’s where I put my focus and it works.
