Meet Katherine Rosenberg-Pineau of 21C Jewelry Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katherine Rosenberg-Pineau.

Katherine, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always loved designing jewelry. I started doing jewelry at the local art center when I was ten years old. I continued studying and practicing through high school and college at Boston University, where I pursued a degree in Metalsmithing from the BU’s Program in Artistry. After a stint in retail where I worked as a Buyer and General Manager, gaining valuable insight into the issues and business of Retail Operations, I then began a long and successful career in Jewelry Design & Development.

I have been fortunate to have worked for some of the largest brands in the industry. Early on I headed up gemstone design and development for Town & Country Fine Jewelry. For almost ten years I was head designer at Hearts On Fire where I launched their fine Jewelry line. I was also the creative force behind the Fine Jewelry Collection, first ever featured in Architectural Digest.

Most recently I was with industry leader Leo Schachter overseeing all the design and development for their jewelry division and the Leo Diamond. I started 21C Jewelry Solutions with my business partner Jaime Polk a year and a half ago. We were both veterans in the jewelry industry and were ready to go out on our own.

Our company’s goal is to bring consumers back to jewelry by changing our sales and merchandising approach and engaging directly with the consumer.

Has it been a smooth road?
I am fortunate in that for the most part of my career has been a constant trajectory.

While the jewelry industry is traditionally dominated by males, females have absolutely become more integrated and present in all roles from bench jeweler to CEO.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with 21C Jewelry Solutions – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Our passion is jewelry. Whether is be diamond, gemstone, platinum or gold. All categories, all markets. Our focus is helping companies in the luxury business become relevant in today’s marketplace. My role in the company is design and merchandising.

I have 25+ years experience and a proven track record for building new jewelry lines, revitalizing existing ones, and driving geometric revenue growth.

Always business focused, I’ve built efficient and effective Product Development teams producing a commercially viable product, cost-efficient internal systems, processes and analytics to manage the complete lifecycle.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
In a way, I grew up in Boston. I moved here to go to college and never left.

For me, the city offers so much. Boston is great for culture, food, and entertainment. It’s very accessible and manageable. Geographically it’s amazing. Close to the mountains for skiing in the winter, beaches in the summer.

As all in all cities, there’ traffic and limited (expensive) parking.
