Meet Kate Dias of Beautiful Horizon Outdoor Design in South Shore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kate Dias.

Kate, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Previously Celso owned C&C Landscape providing landscape services for many years, gathering a great network of customers along the way. We soon came to realize that designing and building outdoor living areas is what we wanted to do. We recognize the full potential of all properties whether it be residential or commercial. In 2014, we decided to start a new company focusing on home improvement and hardscape construction. That is when Beautiful Horizon came about. Celso- a Brazilian native moved to the United States in 2003 from Minas Gerais, Brazil. The capital of his state is Belo Horizonte (beautiful horizon) a beautiful city which inspired our company name. Our artistic and technical abilities put together create a different perspective on the typical outdoor space.

Has it been a smooth road?
We have definitely hit obstacles along the way as small business owners. We have been learning things as we go, being young, in student debt, and incorporating a company in a competitive industry. We take every obstacle/struggle as a lesson learned and can only move forward from here. Our experiences teach us the values and lessons that will bring us only more success for the future. We love what we do and no one ever said it would be easy!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Our company specializes in “hardscapes”. We design and build patios, walkways, natural stone work, steps, outdoor kitchens, general masonry, retaining walls, tile work, and much more! Celso is especially known for his patios. The quality of work combined with creativity ensures the outcome to be spectacular, for any project big or small. I am proud to be a small business who pays close attention to the details and customer needs. We personally meet with our clients and figure out exactly what they want before starting our projects, then we provide a design and estimate. We take as much input from our customers as possible, but also remain 100% transparent if something may not be the best option. If it means we do not get a job because it goes against our professional opinion that is okay. We only want the best outcome and leave no room for issues to arise in the future, these are some of the things that set us apart from others.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
We do a lot of work outside the city, and occasionally venture into the city for particular projects. Boston is a great place for business owners. There are so many opportunities to come from this city, and the people here are one of a kind.
