Meet Kandys Briggs of Anything Errand in South Shore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kandys Briggs.

Kandys, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Anything Errand, LLC was established in August 2015, shortly after I had returned home from a deployment to Afghanistan and finishing an eight year contract with the MA Army National Guard. The entire business idea sprouted from the main desire to help disabled veterans with their grocery shopping and unloading, walking therapy dogs, difficult house chores and other important daily tasks. I really wanted to own a business that could affordably assist local veterans with every day errands which can make coming home and adjusting to hectic schedules a little difficult to deal with right away, as well. The pressure of having to get a million things done, with not enough time in a day, on a daily basis can cause so much stress, it actually begins to affect behaviors, health, relationships, etc. over time. I really feel it’s a shame to struggle alone so I wanted to create a business that can instantly make lives a little easier. Not only did I want a business committed to assisting fellow veterans, but I understand life can be tough for business owners, college students, senior citizens, single moms or dads and growing families alike, so I made all errand services available to anyone who needs the helping hand!

Since starting Anything Errand, LLC I have been more than happy to assist clients bring dogs to daycare, kids to bus stops, wait for services, deliver packages, clean homes, pick up gifts, and many more errands we were honored to complete. Today, in an effort to keep up with the ever-growing online industry, Anything Errand, LLC now offers Virtual Assistant and Social Media Marketing services, in addition to our original local services. It is my hope to be the “One-Stop Personal Assistant” choice people can count on and trust with tasks that need to be done! Whether it’s just so you can start a new hobby, spend more time with your family, work on a different project, go on vacation, or take a long nap, it’s our goal to SIMPLIFY your life and save you more time! Our customers’ satisfaction and sense of making a difference is truly our motivation for each and every task.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been a completely error free road. I had some struggles devising the overall business pricing structure because of the wide variety of services we offer. I also had learn and decide the hard way that unfortunately, Anything Errand, LLC will not be accepting checks as form of payment any longer. There were some bumps when trying to help clients out a little too much in the beginning months, which lead to several checks bouncing after services were completed. However, since creating a more solid structure, launching the online booking and payment capability, I haven’t had that complication again. Also, it’s been a tad rocky figuring out the process to book an appointment smoothly. Due to the nature of the business and widely ranging errands, it’s important to have a free consultation interview prior to booking the official appointment to ensure we can do it, which has been a little challenging to enforce. The process has improved over time, but it can be a little difficult to iron out the details when appointments are booked too quickly.

Our local services include Private Doggy Walks for an hour and Boarding ranging from two hours to overnight, House Sitting while you’re away so there’s no worrying about your mail and plants, Waiting For Services so you’ll never need to miss work for the cable installation again, Home Cleaning to keep your space tidy during the busy week, Vehicle Detailing where ever it’s located to include trucks and RV’s, Party Support so you can actually entertain guests and enjoy your own event, and Simple Photography for gracefully capturing life’s special moments or gathering pictures for real estate listings. We also offer Virtual Assistant services to assist with day to day office tasks or Social Media Marketing to help keep your business growing! Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My biggest mentor has definitely been my fiancé, Kevin Medeiros, who is a two time veteran, a business owner/operator of Kevin Works, LLC, a full time employee for the HOV lane and a soon to be father to our first baby girl. He continuously supports me throughout any business decision making and always offers great advice when I’m faced with a challenge. He has never let me give up on ideas when I’m starting to feel defeated or discouraged. Not only does he inspire me through all of his endless hard work, but he motivates me to keep going no matter how tough it can get.

  • Private Dog Boarding (24hrs.) – $50
  • Private Dog Watching (12hrs.) – $25
  • Simple Photography- (1hr / 50 photos minimum)- $50

  • Disabled Veteran/Senior Care-$70  (2 hrs 2x/week)
  • Party Help (1hr / per 10 guests.) – $15
  • Marketing & Social Media- (2x week / 30 days) – $30
  • Light Move in/Move out Clean- $100 (Appliance exteriors, wiping flat surfaces, light dusting)
  • Heavy Move In/Move Out Clean- $160 (PLUS Appliance interiors, baseboards, deep scrubbing)
  • Out of Area fee- $15  (Travel over 15 miles up to 30 miles, per round trip)
Available add-ons:
