Jumana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I learnt Henna growing up, from my mother who is an accomplished artist herself. Henna is an important cultural part in India and I used to get henna all the time. When I moved to USA with my Husband and 7month old daughter, I used to volunteer Henna for friends and community center.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Most of My henna journey has been a smooth road, as I treat it as a part time business and consider myself a full time mother and homemaker.
Most of the bumps I have hit on the road are couple of customers who did not pay at the end of the event. Other bumps are what I consider normal life bumps like having a flat tire, or car troubles on the way to henna party, sometimes finding an awkward or indecent request for Henna. Not able to do this as a full time job and income is the biggest struggle

Most important is I use all natural Henna that I mix myself. I specialize in doing bridal Henna. The thing that sets me apart is my speed doing henna design. I am very fast at creating henna tattoos, and Speed is result of 16 years of professional experience, and have been doing it since my childhood.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Every time I see my client smile after they received a henna design from me is success. When I create a memorable experience for them and help them relax with their henna. Most of my business is word of mouth, so when I get a repeat customer or a referral I deem it as success.
