Meet Jonathan Wyner of M WORKS STUDIOS in Cambridge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Wyner.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jonathan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started out as a musician and fell in love with the marriage of art and technology at an early age. I discovered early on that if you want to truly understand a discipline, teaching others about it is a great facilitator. My love of music and my facility with things technical have lead to a career as a musician, producer, educator, and technologist. Most recently I’m involved with thinking about how AI can positively intersect creativity and education.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Working with artists presents challenges on every level: financial, stylistic, interpersonal and in having a predictable work cadence. It required a leap of faith each year/month/day that it would be possible to sustain the work and keep pushing things forward. I’ve been fortunate to have acquired enough acumen to navigate these challenges on artistic and financial fronts.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about M WORKS STUDIOS – what should we know?
We’re an incredibly versatile music production company that specializes in record mastering but can navigate most music production challenges. The combination of our versatility regarding genre and artist profile, superior technical facility and history/credits makes us attractive collaborator. We also present at conferences in related areas and influence new directions in product design.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Curiosity, the ability to work as part of a team, leading from behind, keeping ego in check.
