Today we’d like to introduce you to Johnny Perette.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Johnny. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My daughter want to open an ice cream stand , so we found one for sale on park Ave in Weymouth , I’ve owned and operated 9 restaurants & bars in my career , so I thought I would this ice cream stand would be a great seasonal business for her so we worked together for 3 years and. She is extremely successful! Next to the stand is a bar known as JP greers, and has been a local neighbor hood place for years , the owner decided to retire, and I thought it would be a great fit for me , I had one more bar in me ! So Johnny Kono’s bar & grill was born, we renovated the bar & kitchen, and opened to great success, we expanded the menu, and kitchen so we run as a 5 star dive bar, great food at great prices! While keeping the dive bar feel!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s never a smooth road in this business, constant problems with help, and equipment, help is a high turnover, but most of the staff in the front of the house has been here for years

Our commitment to fresh food, cold drinks & customer service keeps folks coming back, our specialty is the food, grease burger, seafood, and our mahi Mahi tacos are a huge seller! But our constant changing specials are fantastic
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is, having people become regulars, when u know them by name, and they have been coming to my other restaurants for years! Keeping the same help for year’s means we are doing something right.
