Today we’d like to introduce you to JJ Przybylski.
Thanks for sharing your story with us JJ. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was working for a very unprofessional moving company in college. After my sophomore year of college I decided to start the company. I ran it in the summer’s to start. Once I graduated from Fairfield U with a degree in management and concentration in entrepreneurship I became full time. My goal of getting into this business was to be the best moving company anyone had ever seen. Stay small, Cater to the high end, innovate a very stagnant industry.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Services industry is one of the toughest places to compete in. Residential House hold goods moving happens to be even harder to be successful. It’s a very stressful time for customers and there are many factors to go wrong. The sales were probably the hardest part. Figuring out that sales is not marketing and that our entire business was to be built on creating authentic relationships with referral partners such as realtors, organizers, move managers, etc. Business is all about realizing when things go bad it’s not that you are unlucky but rather it’s just part of business and you have to tell yourself no matter how bad, if you believe in it, then keep pushing forward.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Mastodon Moving – what should we know?
We are a residential and commercial moving company. We specialize in large, complicated relocations, within MA and All over the USA. We offer packing, unpacking, climate controlled storage, High Value art crating, and can help with many other moving needs. We hire only true moving professionals and do not bulk up like other moving companies do with college kids. We are the elite of the industry, continuously working to customize our equipment, improve our process, and stand out above the rest. We are the company that will never stop improving.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My biggest asset is I look into all different places to learn more about business, networking opportunities, meet with powerful business people, and have had over 10 business coaches/consultants since I started. No one person or individual showed me it all. It has been a progression of business understanding and compiling over the years.
