Meet Jim Quinn of Ink Jam Tattoo Studio in Arlington

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jim Quinn.

Jim, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I always liked to draw as a kid and excelled in art.

As time went on I ended up doing a few bike shows and tattooing out of a trailer.

I did some traveling, worked at a few shops, and then decided to open my own tattoo shop,

That was eleven years ago. Which brings you now to Ink Jam Tattoo Studio.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
When I first opened the shop in Arlington it was pretty quiet,

A lot of people did not expect the shop to happen.

Arlington is such a peaceful location.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I think I specialize in traditional tattoos, as well as black and gray and cover ups.

I’d say I’m well known for cover up tattoos.

Through Ink Jam we have a lot of very enthusiastic customers who help with what we do

I am honored to tattoo Veterans and have met so many great people from hosting Bike Runs.

What were you like growing up?
As a child my highest grades were in Art class.

Other classes just didn’t interest me the way Art did.

In a way, art gave me direction.
