Today we’d like to introduce you to Jim Hanley.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jim. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Our company was founded by a group of tech entrepreneurs who were frustrated by all of the games the big Internet companies play with their customers. Promotional offers that lead to huge price jumps after they expire, requirements to buy into services not needed, it’s all just a way for Comcast and Verizon to squeeze more revenue out of their users. Competition and choice have proven the most effective way to serve consumers regardless of the product or service.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My co-founder netBlazr CTO Brough Turner has dedicated his career to looking for new ways to improve how one accesses the Internet and to helping bridge the great “digital divide” which separates the world into the haves and the have nots.
Our entrepreneurial journey started following decades of working at a wide range of technology companies of all sizes. We were fortunate to have spent a significant part of our careers working with startups and VC-funded companies,
We know that the biggest differentiator we have is around customer service and the key to great customer service is great people – netBlazr has a 5 star Yelp rating. One of our biggest challenges is finding those people.
netBlazr – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our mission continues to be offering fast and reliable high-speed internet access and exceptional customer service. In fact, one of the things we are proudest of is our perfect 5-star rating on Yelp. These high rankings and customer feedback are almost of unheard of in the Internet service industry. We plan to continue adding more cities, building strong customer relationships and providing superior service.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
The lessons we learned in our past lives at technology startups helped prepare us for the challenges of a new business. Since we met through mutual friends, netBlazr has grown at a steady and deliberate pace. Like any new business, we have experienced ups and downs along the way. However, due to the support of our families and confidence of angel investors, we continue to realizeour vision.
“Part of our success is due to our mindset. You’ve got to set your ego aside and do whatever it takes to build the business,” says Hanley.
