Today we’d like to introduce you to Jillian Oppenheim.
Jillian, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner for the past 12 years, specializing in primary care. During my time in Primary care, I found I gravitated towards dermatology. It was always the running joke that if anyone called or came in for any skin condition to put them on my schedule.
So, one thing led to another, and I decided to take my passion to the next level in skin care and medical injectables. I was afraid that I would miss my personal connections if I decreased my time in my primary care practice, however, the exact opposite happened.
I have established some amazing personal relationships as well as friendships in my new line of work. I have been able to make those who have been feeling slightly down a bit more lifted. This work is much more gratifying than I ever imagined possible.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The path has not been perfectly smooth. This is a challenging field to be in with a lot of competition. I came from a purely medical/nursing background and was unprepared with the cutthroat aesthetics world.
However, I find that if you stick to what you know, are able to be ok with what you don’t know, are willing to learn and have the utmost respect for your peers and your clients, you can only succeed.
