Meet Jessica Munroe of Supplet acquired by Bump Boxes in North End

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Munroe.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jessica. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to make a positive change in the world. The question was always how? My “journey” has included careers in finance, sales, and marketing. I also went to business school and have a certification in Health Coaching.

Finally my “Aha! Moment” happened when I was searching for the perfect gift for my friend’s baby shower. Shocked by the toxin-filled mom and baby products on the market and the lack of awareness on what products to avoid during pregnancy, I decided to create my own gift box filled with spa grade and pampering products. By using my background in the natural products world and being able to carefully vet products I was able to assemble a thoughtful lineup of vendors that wanted to work with me on making moms healthier. The gift box was a hit and since then my company has sent out tens of thousands of gift boxes filled with premium gifts and tips on how to improve your health.

Supplet was recently acquired by Bump Boxes, the #1 Pregnancy and Mom subscription box company! If it’s one thing I have learned from becoming a mom it is that you can not always plan for things to go a certain way but you can make healthy choices for you and your family. I made it my mission to create a business that positively impacts the health of our families.

There is no better time to begin a healthier lifestyle than during pregnancy. Researchers have identified the first 1,000 days of a child’s life—from pregnancy through a child’s 2nd birthday—as a critical window of time that is the blueprint for a person’s intellectual development and lifelong health. In addition to selling subscription gift boxes online, we also work with hospitals and large employer corporations.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The high’s and low’s of getting a small company off the ground can be pretty intense but eventually, you manage to stay calm and carry on (apologies for the cliche!) The big challenge for me is chipping away at the day to day while having such grand aspirations for Bump Boxes. Our team believes that Bump Boxes should be offered to every employee going on maternity leave across North America. I also have a roadmap for how our service and products will help employers and make a positive impact on women in the workforce!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Supplet acquired by Bump Boxes in 2017 – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I work for the largest pregnancy subscription company, Bump Boxes! The company was founded by CEO Christine Deehring to make Mom’s life easier. Bump Boxes provides a monthly subscription of healthy and fun products for Mom & Baby. The boxes are tailored to mom’s due date and are designed to pamper her through pregnancy and beyond!

In 2013, I started the company Supplet, which was recently acquired by Bump Boxes to expand their footprint in the pregnancy space. I’m so excited to be a part of the Bump Boxes family and the difference they’re making for moms everywhere!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
