Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Wilson.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Andrew Michaels Spa and Salon has been in business for 17 years. The owner of Andrew Michaels dreamed of opening a spa and salon that would be viewed as a destination to escape the stresses of everyday life while being pampered with the best products and services.

First he had to find a building which would feel like a sanctuary for his clients. He discovered the old Salem Library which was constructed in 1912. He set out to renovate the three floor historical building keeping the history intact. It took two years to complete the renovation and it is truly a historical gem that you need to see to believe. In keeping with his vision, the highly trained staff are trained to provide the clients with the best possible experience.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One of the greatest challenges we have faced over the years is educating clients on the value of the services we provide. It is important for people to take time for themselves on a regular basis to relax and renew their spirit. In the past, a facial or massage would be considered a luxury, but in this day and age it has become more of a necessity. The health of your hair, body and skin can truly make a difference in the way you feel, not just in the way you look.

Due to the beauty and magnificence of the building, many potential clients assume that our price points are too high. We pride ourselves in offering excellent services while being very competitively priced within the market. So without breaking the bank we offer luxurious treatments in a beautiful and peaceful location.

We are an award winning Spa and Salon that offers personal care services. We offer the latest in skin care, body treatments, massage therapy, nail and hair care as well as bridal hair and makeup services. All of our staff is highly trained and professional and they provide their clients with an experience that is nothing less than extraordinary.
We pride ourselves in treating our clients as guests. We know that our clients are often weakened by time, obligations and stress so from the time they arrive, to when they leave, we strive to have our client’s look and feel better. We offer top of the line hair color cutting and styling services. We also strive to keep up with the latest in skin care services. We carry a few very result driven skin care lines. Our IS Clinical Fire and Ice Facial (also known as “The Red Carpet Facial) and our Intraceuticals Oxygen Facial, are well known secret weapons in the beauty routine of some of Hollywood’s top names.

We are known most of all for our fabulous building and it sets us apart from others. We have one of the largest salon/spa spaces on the North Shore with 7000 square feet of space. Our main floor, where we perform our hair cutting/styling, has a 35 foot-high ceiling with an enormous sky light that fills the room with calming natural light. Our Spa is located on the lower level with 7 separate treatment rooms for spa services. Everyone’s favorite room is our wet room where we perform our Seasonal Body Polish treatments. It is outfitted with a luxurious lie-down showering system called a “Vichy Shower”. This is a three part treatment. First we exfoliate the entire body with polish that changes flavor with the seasons. Next you’ll have a hydrotherapy shower and we finish with a decadent body butter massage. Your skin will be super soft and your spirit renewed after this treatment.
