Meet Jeffrey Tassinari II of Snow and Jones Sheet Metal in South Shore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeffrey Tassinari II.

Jeffrey, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started in high school when I enrolled in the vocational program. I had to try four programs but metal fabrication and welding was the one I chose to focus on. You can just about do and create anything with metal. There, I honed my skills learning a little of this and a little of that. What I liked most wasn’t welding but fabricating. The ability to design, draw out and make it.

After school, I worked at a small family-owned shop making HVAC duct, fittings and was introduced to copper work. I ended up staying there for 10 years. It wasn’t the greatest job but it’s the skills they taught me and what I got out of it. Is what made it worthwhile.

I started working at Snow and Jones about five years ago. Here is where things took off. Not very often your company, right off the bat, believes in you, but they did. They gave me the tools to grow the business and take it in a direction they had never been in. It is a very fulfilling feeling to do the work you and have everyone behind you.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Of course not… if the road was smooth, you never pushed yourself far enough. Most of my challenges came from within. I didn’t go to college in the college world. That going against the grain always weighed on me. Was I doing the right thing? Is this going to work out? Also, when the economy is down and people aren’t doing those extra projects around the house. I had at times had to go way out of my comfort zone and go to networking meetings, meet new people, and just had to go out and the jobs that I wanted. You just have to keep looking at the end and believe you can push through to your goals.
