Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Canzano and Suzanne Vecchi.
Jason is the managing director of Acelleron Medical Products, a home medical equipment provider based in North Andover, Massachusetts, which helps children and expecting moms throughout the Northeast obtain respiratory equipment as well as maternal health products and services.
Jason joined Acelleron Medical Products back in 2013 when Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services, Inc. acquired the company. In just three short years, Acelleron has gone from being one of the largest providers of pediatric nebulizers in New England to becoming a true destination for expecting mothers. “On my first day at Acelleron we started receiving calls from expecting moms wanting a breast pump. They were all of a sudden covered by insurance under the Affordable Care Act which went into effect on January 1, 2013. As a result, we went from providing one breast pump a month to recently 3,500 a month.”
However, Jason’s passion for helping moms did not stop there. His vision was to be a one-stop-shop for an expecting mom. So in 2014, Acelleron Medical Products acquired Suzanne Vecchi’s Maternal Health and Fitness to form Acelleron Maternal Health & Wellness.
“Maternal Health & Wellness is committed to providing resources to empower women and families so they can achieve success in parenthood. From the early days of pregnancy and beyond, we are here to provide quality education and support, as well as yoga and fitness, to help prepare mind and body for this journey. Through this holistic approach, we are confident our clients will have the resources they need to have a positive and nurturing experience.”
Jason moved back to New Hampshire in 2004 after living in the New York Metropolitan area since graduating from Providence College in 2000. After spending 12 years in the financial services industry he was approached by friends in New Jersey about making a career change and leading a small home medical products company. Jason’s friends, Todd Thiede, CFO, and Jonathan Herman, COO, of Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services, Inc., shared their positive experience of leaving Wall Street for the health care industry. Despite Jason saying no to Todd and Jonathan’s initial pitch, they eventually won him over with their vision to combine Preferred’s home health agency business with Acelleron’s home medical equipment business. Ultimately, Jason could not pass up the opportunity to make a difference in so many people’s lives and to build a company with friends whom he greatly respected. He is very grateful for an amazing group of friends who led him to this opportunity.
In the little free time Jason has, he loves to spend time with his wife and two daughters, work out, play soccer, ski, and surf.
Has it been a smooth road?
Running a business is never smooth. You need to be comfortable feeling uncomfortable.
In four years, we grew from 6 employees to over 40 employees. Having a solid foundation to handle that type of sales and employee growth are critical. We are still working on building this foundation.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Acelleron – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
