Meet Jared Charney of Jared Charney Photography in Marblehead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jared Charney.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I transitioned from writing to telling people’s stories through still imagery while living in New York City. Since then I have photographed many magazine articles, events, advertising and corporate work

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Many bumps along the way! The most difficult part is knowing that work as a freelancer ebbs and flows. Still have a lot to learn and to put into practice: the business part of photography

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am most known for my ability to truly capture the essence of people I photograph whether it be for an article for a magazine or even something as seemingly simple as a business headshot. Because I am so fascinated by everyone’s story I believe I can really relax people and find expressions that otherwise might not happen.

What were you like growing up?
Soft spoken, loved sports, had a great group of friends, always loved music, comics, just being outside.
