Today we’d like to introduce you to Janis Wentzell.
Janis, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Auto Craft, Inc has been in business since March of 1964 and was started by my husband when he was 23. I met my husband when I became one of his customers in 1967. We married in April, 1968. I joined the company and became his partner in 1972. We enlarged our business in 1978, building a state of the art service facility which I still operate today. Along the way we developed a self-storage facility, seasonal rental property which is still held and managed by me. In 1999, I had the privilege of joining Randolph Savings Bank as a bank director, a position I still hold. I am currently hold a Massachusetts State Inspector License. A lot of very hard work and belief in my ability, willingness to take a chance. Being the best you can be at whatever you do. Serving on the advisory board for automotive technology at Blue Hills Regional/Technical High School in Canton.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When we were building in 1978, the cost of money for our loans almost put us under with a 22% interest rate. The untimely sudden death of my husband in 2009. Working an enormous amount of hours to succeed, earning the respect of our clients.
