Meet Howard, Adam, Andrew, and Happy Jacobs of Toodies Fine Jewelry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Howard, Adam, Andrew, and Happy Jacobs.

Howard G. Jacobs incorporated Toodie’s Fine Jewelry in May of 1984. The business was named in memory of his late mother, Toodie Jacobs, whom passed away at the young age of 40, due to an endless fight with breast cancer. Howard wanted to build a legacy in memory of his mother, and he did over the years, taking on multiple designer brands, partnering with multiple fine Swiss watch lines, all while designing and manufacturing jewelry on his own.

In 2004, Howard set forth multiple goals, he was eager to grow the business even more and build multiple relationships with both wholesale and retail aspects of the jewelry business, and the journey had only began. Howard hired RAD Construction Consultants to redevelop and expand his entire business. Howard invested over a half of a million dollars into renovations alone. Since doing so, he was able to attain distribution of luxury designer brands and achieve goals he never would have dreamed of. Not only, did Toodie’s gain resources, Howard was able to gain multiple partnerships with oversea diamond manufacturers (cutters) and expand his diamond business immensely.

In May of 2010, Adam, Howard’s oldest child joined the team with goals of building his father’s brand. Since beginning his adventure, Adam has been very successful in building new relationships with both corporate accounts and clientele. Beginning in late 2011, Howard and Adam created a very successful bridal line together that has built a very strong foundation. More recently, in early 2017, Howard’s middle son, Andrew, joined the team, after serving in the Restaurant and hospitality industry for over 10 years. Andrew brings years of experience in the service industry and is always able to resolve whatever is at hand. He is quickly learning how his father has built a successful reputation and is understanding the fundamentals and drive it takes to operate a company.

Has it been a smooth road?
I have been very lucky…however, like every business, there is always a few bumps in the road. Sometimes a tough economy will bring forth struggles. A volatile metal market can sometimes bring inconsistency to business, but it’s most important to realize the trend and re-develop a strategy to cope with fluctuating markets. In addition, working in a so called “luxury” business is a struggle/challenge in general, because again, jewelry isn’t a necessity, its desirable.

Toodie’s is a Full Service Independent Family Owned and Fully Operated Jewelry Business that has been around for just over 35 years. Whether someone needs a simple repair completed, a battery in a watch changed or a fully customized one of a kind piece, if it comes to jewelry or diamonds, we attain the skills and professional well-being to complete almost any request.

Mainly, we specialize in two different aspects of our business, First is, custom designing Diamond Engagement Rings and Secondly, attaining one of the largest selections of Diamonds accompanied by a GIA Report in greater Boston. When Custom Designing a Ring, We go through a very in depth, however, easy process when discussing someone’s wants and needs involving the ideal custom design. We allow our guest to give us their feedback, supply us with their ideas and this is when we, together, hit the drawing board and come up with a basic sketch before utilizing CAD/CAM. After a CAD is produced, we follow up and discuss all the specifics and allow any alterations requested. Continuing, the model is grown, cast, and finished for the piece to be delivered. Now, following up, as said above, we do attain one of greater Boston’s largest Diamond Inventory. We have been very lucky over the years to travel overseas and establish relationships with not only wholesale diamond suppliers, but more importantly manufacturers and diamond cutters. This is where the true value arises. We are able to cut out between one and three immediate parties and go to the direct source, allowing us to save the public large sums of money. Not only have we been specializing in the above for years, we have also been known to beat any competitor’s price on GIA diamonds and Custom Design, Guaranteed.

As a company, Toodie’s is most proud of our extensive growth over 35 years and more importantly, all of our positive feedback from individual’s experiences. Boston is a city of Deep American History, a city that we are lucky enough to call home. Boston is one of a kind, with residents that are extremely passionate, bold, and beautiful. We benefit from having Four Seasons of Nature, we are located so centrally that in the summer we can travel to the Cape & Islands to enjoy family/friends or winter we can head north to the Mountains for skiing. Additionally, Boston is known for Championship Sports franchises and a community that stands together and has always come together in times of need.

I wouldn’t call Boston Flawless. I wouldn’t call Boston perfect. Define Perfect. Boston has had our ups and our downs, but with all negativity aside, Boston has always come through in times of need. We will face obstacles, and as a city we will overcome those obstacles, learn from mistakes and prosper while we still grow as an elite American city.
