Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Nawrocki Guertin.
Heather, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always wanted to be a massage therapist. I thought it would be awesome to travel on a crew ship and work in the spa on the ship, however, I had my first child very young and needed to steady income to take care of her. So I did everything else you could think of! From waitressing to selling cars to reception to embroidery! I wasn’t happy anywhere! After my second child, I finally decided it was time to take a chance on my dream job. So I went to school part-time and work part-time. As soon as Massage school was done I said to myself no more working for someone else! I decided what’s the worse that could happen?! I’d fail and I’d just have to go work for someone else at that point. So with my parent’s support ( a loan ), I started to ReNew! 4 and half years later we are going strong and I have my dream job!
Has it been a smooth road?
Starting a business always has some problems like how do I get clients!!! Or how to mange the bills and even how to be someone’s boss, as I have to therapist who work with me now. But I Just keep my eye on the prize and figure it out along the way. Of course with guidance and help from others.
