Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Carr.
Heather, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In April 2006 I bought and took over the T house of hair fashions. This salon was in Business for 46 years before I took it over. I completely renovated and turned it into my own, Sacarrha Salon. Because it was already a successful running salon, I came with three stylists and loyal customers who have been going to the salon for many years.
Over the years I educated myself with business classes and networked with distributors and other salon owners who helped give me the tools to become a successful salon. We use only the best products at our salon and have built a loyal customer base over the years for providing the best possible experience and atmosphere of a nice upscale salon.
I started with only four stylists including myself and have now grown to a staff of 10 stylists. I hire all my stylists right out of hair school and put them through my training program and help each of them grow as stylists and to become successful in this industry.
We are currently expanding the salon to a 2 Level salon because we have grown so much over the years and will be hiring more stylists and offering some great new services at the salon for our customers. I’m am a very passionate stylist and salon owner who loves this industry and has worked so hard to grow and make Sacarrha Salon successful.
Has it been a smooth road?
Since I was a young girl (Heather), I knew I wanted to make people look and feel beautiful. I love hair and fashion. I found a high school (Davies)that offered cosmetology and perused my dream. I worked in a salon since I was 16 years of age.
During my experiences, I knew I wanted to own my own salon someday to make a difference in the beauty industry. I wanted a workplace that my Stylists could come to work and love what they do every day and not feel like it’s work.
I’ve worked in salons where I had to walk blocks to wash our towels, entertain and practice on the local homeless, work without the proper materials needed to meet my client’s needs, witnessed stealing and bad team management, I wanted better. At the age of 23, I took an opportunity and took over an older, outdated running salon.
With absolutely no experience, and with the help of my husband We transformed it into Sacarrha Salon. During these 12 years, we’ve faced many challenges and people who wanted us to fail. That only made us stronger and pushed us to succeed more. I always surround myself by positive people never negative. With the help of many amazing people in my life, my passion for hair and to make people look and feel good, I now lead an amazingly talented team who has that same passion for hair.
Sacarrha Salon stands out and is truly different from most salons. We care about our guests and care about our employees. We are not only family but a strong team that helps grow each other. We want everyone to have the best of the best in our industry. Anyone can be a hairstylist but do they have a purpose? Anyone can open up a salon but can they be a mentor and a leader. I wanted to change that. I want to be the one to help guide people to make their goals and be successful and be who they want to be.
