Meet Guy Tringali and Sandra Daniels of Tringali Art & Design Studio in Foxboro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Guy Tringali and Sandra Daniels.

Guy and Sandra, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
From the get-go, as a Boston native, I always liked to draw and color. As a young teenager I went to the MFA Museum School (Boston), Mass College of Art (Boston) when I was 16 and Butera School of Art in Boston’s Back Bay upon graduating high school. At first my goal was to be a fine artist but found myself in the world of advertising and eventually as Creative Director for one of Boston’s elite agencies. After working on businesses such as Cole-Haan, TJMaxx, Raytheon, Friendly Ice Cream, Honeywell, Liberty Mutual, The Boston Globe and Fidelity Investments to name a few, I joined Cambridge SoundWorks as their Creative and Marketing Director followed by a stint running my own agency…Daniels Advertising. I have won several industry awards of all types including the Best of Show for advertising among all American Red Cross affiliates throughout the country. After retiring from the business I started the studio, at first painting scenes/subjects of Cape Cod in oils, detailed watercolor paintings of salt and fresh water fish, and later adding oil paintings of southern Maine. I’ve recently added scenes/subjects of southern Florida.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I have been very fortunate having the opportunity to apply my skills in communications to achieve certain marketing goals and being rewarded and awarded for that work. The challenge was to generate new, fresh ideas every day, ideas that you believed would be a client’s best step forward. As a studio artist the challenge is to keep the fire burning.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Tringali Art & Design Studio – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
The studio operates out of three locations but is based in Foxboro, MA. I paint landscapes and seascapes primarily and mostly in oils. I have a greater following in Southern Maine where I’m represented by the Harvest Gold Gallery in Center Lovell, ME. What sets me apart is that I’m always experimenting with styles. I don’t want to be locked into one particular style…which would bore me to tears. I guess it’s from my advertising days where each client had its own personality and style and you had to adapt. I found that refreshing and challenging. It was like starting a new job almost every day.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
No big changes. At times, I still work developing that new impressionistic style. I’ve had some success and many failures. But I persist.
