Today we’d like to introduce you to David Nguyen.
David, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Most people go to Vegas for the pool parties and the casinos. I went to get my small business started. I used to be a delivery driver working for a restaurant and I would drop my phone all the time. I tried YouTubing screen repairs but unfortunately the instructions were never thorough enough and I would have to make time to schedule a repair at the mall anyways. Then in 2014, I heard of this program called Wild PCs, which taught you how to repair smart phones. It would be hosted in Las Vegas and would guide the attendees on hands on approach to repairing any smart phone. I took a leap of faith and flew from Boston to Las Vegas to make a start on this career.
I got the idea of doing mobile repairs based on one single idea: time is the most important thing to everyone. The foundation of my company, I- go repairs, questioned why people have to drive out to get their smartphones fixed every time there was a crack or defect. Why not have a repair shop come to you and work directly on site? I go repairs charges about the same as store fronts and we offer original LCDs or high quality aftermarket screens. We service all of Greater Boston. This June will be our second anniversary and it has been the best so far. Our service is based on providing the best service that we can- quick, and efficiently.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting up my first year was the most frustrating part of my life. I had a steady job and income from hourly jobs since I was young. When I started up this business and invested all my time and money in such a short time, it was a terrifying gamble. Even after going to Las Vegas I did not feel so confident due to the pricing on inventory. I didn’t know what parts were needed the most and how difficult non-apple phones would be to repair. I was using high quality aftermarket parts and sometimes there would be defects. The customer’s time is very valuable and that is what my business was based on. I was scared to be wasting their time while I struggled to perfect my craft. I finally found a local vendor that distributed original and aftermarket parts. This made it affordable for customers while still making a profit for the company. Everything is finally looking good this year and I am happy sharing my experience.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with i-Go Repairs – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Wouldn’t it be nice to call for a phone repair like calling for a pizza delivery? We want to make it as convenient as this. We are hoping to have fleets of mobile repair vans out within the next few years to accommodate more requests. Technology is developing so rapidly and that gives us the opportunity to provide our service.
