Ghassan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
L’artisan café & bakery is a unique concept bringing together various flavors and aromas from various parts of the world. It’s a fusion of European, Greek, Mediterranean, Lebanese and French influences. Having gained over 20 years of experience in the food and retail business, L’artisan café is a reflection of all the various and unique exposures I encountered in my working years to concepts, foods, ambiance and more.
L’artisan café is situated in prestigious Wayland Square area of the East Side of Providence. We are a meeting place for the neighbors, businesses, professors, students, and tourists. Situated near Brown University and RISD, L’artisan café provides a unique European experience especially on the outdoor terrace.
Has it been a smooth road?
I have to say that it has been a smooth journey starting up this new and unique concept. As any new ventures, it was challenging to train staff members to fully understand the philosophy of this concept and being able to educate our clientele.

We are proud of continuously providing quality and consistency to our loyal clientele. We take pride in serving crafted specialty coffee drinks one customer at a time. We provide a relaxing and soothing atmosphere.
Freshly baked viennoiseries in our ovens, freshly and daily made salads and panini are appreciated by people on the run or for those in need to enjoy a moment of rest and peace. Enjoy live local musicians entertaining customers on our terrace sipping a glass of wine with perhaps an assiette de fromage and more.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Boston and Providence are both great cities in my opinion for any unique concept. People are adventurous and have the urge and willingness to try new ideas and concepts.
