Today we’d like to introduce you to Geoff Pilkington.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We were all friends in the music scene on the north shore working on projects that inspired each other. We wanted to create music we loved and that paid homage to the genre, assembled what we felt was the best flavors from the area and it’s been on ever since our first jam.
We are now in our 8th year and just released our 3rd full-length album. There’s a special chemistry to the group that we haven’t found in any of our previous bands that continues to evolve and inspire us. Thankful to have such wonderful players and people working together creating a sound that resonates deeply with us all.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Overall we have had a good ride thus far. We’ve faced personal challenges and some health issues in our journey but continue to create at a pace that works for everyone.
Life is full of struggles but we are thankful to have a band that helps us heal and provides a space to let go of our issues in a positive environment.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Soul Rebel Project story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a reggae/rock band out of MA. Proud and honored to be able to make music that we love that has a positive impact on those around us.
I think we blend so many genres from hip-hop, rock to jazz and RNB under the blanket of reggae that sets our sound apart from other bands in our field.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We are lucky in the sense that we get to create music we love as an occupation and outlet.
