Today we’d like to introduce you to Galina Efremova.
Galina, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I came to the United States in 2010 when I was 22. I had a vision of an American Dream of living free and independent and being able to achieve goals on my own. I left my family and friends after I graduated from college in Russia and came here alone. I got a degree in foreign languages and accounting. I had always had a passion for fashion and wanted to have my own clothing business. I am also an artist at heart and paint in different media. I wanted to use all my skills in my future business. I came up with an idea of selling fun printed fashion leggings. Our leggings combine comfort and style.
The American style seems to be more about comfort, the Russian style is more about the style so I tried to combine them both. Back in 2012, you could only see plain leggings at the stores so the leggings that I brought were a perfect gift that people got in Christmas when I opened my first location in November 2012 at the mall which was successful. I had locations in different malls in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. At the moment my business is located in the heart of Boston at Faneuil Hall Marketplace. We have a lot of repeat customers from all the states who love our leggings.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Like any business owner, I often come across some challenges. I am the only person who runs this business and I have to make all decisions regarding sales, employees, improvement, budget, growth on my own. Since I didn’t have education in business management and my family Is not here to help me I had to learn it through the process of doing and through mistakes and I always take courses ( like marketing ) to keep up with the business changes.
My biggest challenge is to have the right dedicated people on my team who understand my vision and represent the business accordingly. Since my kiosk is required to be open 7 days a week I constantly need to have part-time employees, especially during the busy season.

The company Celebrity Leggings specializes in good quality leggings that are super comfortable, non-see-through, durable, made of super soft fabric and fun. I give a lot of credit to my former landlord Marty Lynes where I lived for 6 years. She was my friend and prayed for me and helped me with the storage for my merchandise.
I’m thankful to my friends who helped me with photo shoots and spread the word about my business around and supported me with kind and uplifting words. Also thanks to some good team members who always showed up for work and shared my vision.
