Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Joseph O’Donnell, Dr. Geraldine Garcia-Rogers, Dr. Gary Warrington, Dr. Sonia Wu, Dr. Nicole Harrington and Dr. Shannon Duffy.
We are a group of doctors and staff who are committed to providing you and your child with a positive, comfortable and safe dental health experience. We care deeply about our patients and we treat them like family.
Founded in 1974, PDA Dental Group has served thousands of patients in the greater Boston area. Some of our doctors have been with the practice since the beginning and have had the pleasure of seeing past pediatric patients return with their own children and as patients! We are proud of the positive, trusting relationships we have built with our patients as we strive to serve all family members from infancy through adulthood.
In November 1974, while serving as an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatric Dentistry and Dentist-in-Chief of the Tufts Dental Facilities for Persons with Special Needs, Dr. Joseph P. O’Donnell started a part-time practice of pediatric dentistry in Winchester. The office was very small—just two dental chairs—and was only open two weekday afternoons and Saturdays.
As the practice became busier, Dr. O’Donnell added a partner, Dr. Gary Warrington who had been an outstanding student in Dr. O’Donnell’s post-graduate residency program at the Tufts-New England Medical Center. At this time the practice officially became Pediatric Dental Associates of Winchester (PDA).
With the continued growth of the practice, the office moved to a new professional building in Winchester, the Russell Hill Condominiums, in 1985. The new facilities had seven operatories and offered orthodontic services in addition to pediatric dentistry. Within a short time, the demand for appointment times spurred additional growth as the office expanded into an adjoining suite and four more operatories were installed.
Over the subsequent years, the practice added several highly qualified pediatric dentists to the staff: Dr. Geraldine Garcia-Rogers, Dr. Sonia Wu and Dr. Nicole Harrington—all of whom are partners. We are also proud to say that all our pediatric dentists are Board Certified.
In 1998 PDA expanded and opened a second location in Reading, MA where our services include pediatric dentistry, orthodontics and adult dentistry. Dr. Shannon Duffy is also a partner and directs the orthodontic department, while Dr. Kimberly Weiss provides adult dental services.
In August 2017, our Reading office moved into a new, state-of-the-art office in the downtown center. This new space allows us a larger office with more operatories to accommodate the three specialties (pediatric, adult and orthodontics) operating out of this office. It provided us with a larger waiting room to give our families more comfort while in the office.
We are proud to say that we have more than fifty employees, many of whom have worked with us for more than twenty years. We are grateful to our patients for the tremendous support and confidence that has combined to help our practice grow. Over the years, keeping up with the growth of the practice was continued work – expanding the office, opening in a second office in a different town and then again expanding that second office into a new, larger space.

Pediatric Dentistry
At PDA Dental Group, we create an environment where your child feels safe and comfortable—and can even have fun! We work to ensure that our young patients have a positive experience, from their very first visit.
Our pediatric dentists have specialized training in the treatment of infants, children and adolescents. Together with our staff members we make children feel at ease in the dental office. We nurture trusting relationships with our young patients, and we emphasize education and prevention as the cornerstones of good oral health.
A healthy smile starts with the first tooth! We see our youngest patients beginning around their first birthday, when we begin teaching them (with help from mom and dad) good oral hygiene practices that will last throughout their lifetime. We know prevention is key—and we teach that. Each checkup includes a trip to our on-site “prevention center,” where we teach children about tooth brushing, flossing and rinsing. We also provide parents with recommendations and advice about the use of topical fluorides, sealants, proper diet and healthy foods to promote good oral health.
Orthodontics
Our top priority is to provide your child with the highest quality orthodontic care in a friendly, comfortable environment. We utilize the latest technological advances in the industry and a personalized plan to ensure that your child receives the most effective orthodontic treatment possible. Adult Dentistry
Our staff provides the finest and most comprehensive dental care to our patients. To accomplish this goal, our office is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and dental supplies. Along with general preventive adult dental care, we specialize in a wide range of restorative dentistry and cosmetic dental procedures designed to help you have a beautiful smile. And we do it in an atmosphere that is comfortable, safe and pain free.
