A positive attitude has helped me build a successful social media and email marketing consulting business in Boston, Massachusetts. Starting a new business is not for the faint of heart. Nicastro Consultants is celebrating 7 years in business. Its a second career after a successful twenty-five-year career in higher education information technology administration. Using my knowledge and passion for teaching and technology, I started a consulting business helping small business with digital, Internet and email marketing.
I hold an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Suffolk University, a Master’s Degree in Public Health and a certification in Emergency Management and Business Continuity from Boston University. As a Constant Contact solutions provider for the number one email marketing company, I am committed to teaching digital marketing workshops to groups of small businesses and non-profit organizations, free of charge!
My success is fueled by my passion for learning, teaching and solving technology challenges in a fast-changing world. My core values include:
Resiliency is a core value that my company, Nicastro Consultants, relies upon. Whether in my personal or professional career, it has been my beacon. Two major life events transformed my mantra, “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!” I practice a daily life of gratitude. When life’s lemons are thrown my way, I make a delicious lemon aid.

Generosity is grace in the moment. It is something I witnessed and experienced as a young girl. I was lucky to grow up in a neighborhood where people supported one another. I continue to practice that spirit of generosity each and every day by paying it forward. I give my time and expertise to organizations that help young girls and women in business and in education. I value the importance of education, resiliency, trust, generosity and the strength of the human spirit.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s never a smooth road especially when you are building a business from scratch. It’s like baking a cake it takes a recipe, a road map, the ability to follow instructions and be creative on the fly. What I have learned it to know what you need to run your business, understand what you do very well and what you don’t; find those who have the skills to help you grow your company.

What were you like growing up?
Looking back I was a born leader. Second, in line of six siblings, I learned management, organization and communication skills early. I was always helping with cooking, cleaning, baking, laundry. My role was to fix things and keep my mother and my siblings organized. It was a good primer for running a consulting business.
