Meet Dominique Pasquarosa of La Beautique in Newton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Pasquarosa.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In 2010, I attended Empire Beauty School in Downtown Boston. During that time, I also worked at a salon on Newbury Street as an assistant where I started my training to become a stylist. Shortly after graduating, I decided to find a salon closer to my home town in Newton. I worked at an amazing salon on Beacon Street for 5 years where I trained and built my clientele. It had always been a dream of mine to open my own salon someday, I just didn’t expect it to be so soon into my career as a hair stylist/makeup artist. The space where I opened La Beautique happened to fall in my lap, so I ran with it! I grew a huge passion for makeup and bridal hair styling, so we specialize in bridal and special events, which has quickly picked up. Through the week I service my regular haircut/color clients and on the weekends my team and I are typically on site somewhere glamming a wedding party. La Beautique is slowly but steadily growing and I can’t wait to have the salon full of an amazing team of hairstylists and makeup artists!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Opening a business is a very rocky road! I had and still have a lot of challenges that come my way, situations that I’ve never had to deal with before that are sometimes very difficult. On the bright side, I am learning something new all of the time!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about La Beautique – what should we know?
La Beautique specializes in wedding and special event hair styling & makeup. We use Goldwell color and also specialize in balayage, a technique for highlighting the hair in which the dye is painted on in such a way as to create a graduated, natural-looking effect.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I am an ambitious stylist who is always staying on top of current trends in the industry and continuously taking classes to learn and perfect new techniques. My concentration in creative services including balayage, makeup, bridal and special event styling have resulted in my expertise in all of these categories. I am very careful to listen to my clients every need to be sure they walk out the door looking and feeling amazing. My passion for the beauty industry drives me to continue presenting my clients with nothing but high quality service.
