Meet Dionysia DeLuca of Dionysia’s Massage Studio in Newton Center

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dionysia DeLuca.

Dionysia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a child I grew up spending my summers on Pricilla Beach in Plymouth MA.I loved when my Mother and Aunts would ask me to assist them with applying their sunblock. I think at first I liked being able to hear the adult conversation and then I realized I loved giving them a massage with their application. My cousins would yell for me, “BABY CLAW,”(a nickname that they still call me today) come swim or come build a sand castle but I was very content applying sunblock / oil .MY Parents owned a pizza shop so when summer was over I was kneading dough. And constantly filling my hands with anything I could knead. When I graduated from high school I went to massage school. I got my first job as a Massage Therapist at La Residencia Spa in Newton. My first year I became Head Massage Therapist and Manager. During my fifth year I started working seasonally at the Red Jacket Resort on Cape Cod in Yarmouth. I pioneered chair massage Ocean front where I still am currently employed at the OC spa! I knew someday I would be back at the beach!! After Seven Years at La Residencia Spa When the time was right and the space was perfect I opened Dionysia’s Massage Studio. I Love working with my hands every day. If I’m not giving a massage you can find me Cooking or Gardening

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There were speed bumps along the road in beginning of my journey. I think some to slow me down and others to say hey it’s going great you’re still learning. My Transition from Manager /Head Massage therapist to business owner has been a challenge. Not being able to depend on a receptionist or a PR person has been one of the biggest struggles.

I specialize in hot stone and Pre Natal Massage. I’m known for adding stones, hot or cold depending on the clients’ needs in every Massage. I’m proud to be able to help my clients relax in a stress free zone and bring their body back to its normal homeostasis. I love being able to support people with their general health and wellbeing. What sets me apart from others is my therapeutic touch. I inspire trust and respect setting a personal intension for every client. Applying individualized techniques with the perfect amount of pressure is key to an Amazing Massage.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plan for the future begins with becoming a Doula to help support families before, during and after childbirth. I look forward to helping families in their home and still seeing my clients at my studio.
