Meet Dianne Connor of DC Aesthetics in Shrewsbury

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dianne Connor.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my Aesthetics Career in 1998 graduating from Elizabeth Grady. In 1999, I joined a cosmetic surgery practice where I worked with pre and post surgical patients along side board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. David Connors. Dr. Connors was ahead of his time bringing aestheticians into his practice, not only did I learn medical aesthetics, I learned the importance of patient privacy and universal precautions. How he treated his patients was also something I carry with me everyday – he always said show kindness not only to the person but to the muscle, the tissue, the skin everything responds better with kindness.

I started my Massage Therapy Practice career in 2008 graduating from Bancroft. I opened my own practice at this time while still working with Dr. Connors. When he retired I expanded my business. Having both a aesthetician license and massage therapist license gives me the ability to intertwine both practices assisting the muscles and survey skin conditions keeping my people feeling and looking great inside and out.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been obstacles but I call them life lessons. Those lessons have helped me along the way and have helped me advise newcomers just starting out. Its not easy taking the leap into opening up a business. In this field, it takes years of hard work and lots of hours to build a successful business.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about DC Aesthetics – what should we know?
I specialize in one on one care. When someone comes into my place, they are the focus. I have aligned myself with a group of women that are at the top of their field, very educated and have the same philosophies as me. Since 1999, I have worked with a cosmetic dermatologist, Dr. Ciraldo who formulates all of my skin care products. She is conscientious to keep the products medical grade while keeping them as natural as possible. Skin care is forever changing and she is always reformulating to add the latest in game changing ingredients. She has a phenomenal team of educators so I am always learning. It’s nice to have a product line that makes such an impact and because I have been working with her for so long, I know exactly what will work best for someone.

I also work with a board certified dermatology nurse practitioner, Kathryn Swanson. There are very few NPs that are board certified in dermatology so, I am blessed to have her on my team. She has been doing facial injections and laser for over 15 years. Kathryn also shares my conservative approach, we work together on each individual so the outcome is very natural.

My newest member is certified eyelash technical, Kate Kady. Kate is unique in that she has special training in the latest volume lashes and has a bachelors degree in science from Worcester State.

The thing that sets me apart is networking, surrounding myself with like minded specialists so, my people can look and feel their best.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I am lucky enough to love what I do and to have worked with and be surrounded by very supportive people over the years that continue to support me and want me to be successful.

I’m not being compensated in any way shape or form for my comment/review, so here goes. I was referred to both Dianne & Kate at different times from different people. Dianne, I’ve had the pleasure of being treated by her for the last 2-2.5yrs for monthly massages. She is simply awesome at what she does. She has a sweet personality & a knack for what she does. Looks can be deceiving so if you only want a gentle massage, she’ll do just that. But if you need a more deeper massage for those rebellious muscles, she’s got that covered to…BELIEVE ME! I love that her work environment is ALWAYS aesthetically clean & pleasing to the eyes & mood. Give her a try & I believe you’ll be booking your next appointment when you cash out!
I know this article is about Dianne but I wanted folks to know briefly about Kate without taking away from Dianne.
Kate is located in the same salon & is just as awesome! My first time getting lash extensions was by someone else & I wasn’t very happy with her or her techniques. I’m VERY glad I took the leap & tried Kate out. She’s also very sweet, keeps her work environment the same way & uses high quality products unlike some others trying to cut corners.
Every time I walk out of DC Awathetics, I feel simply wonderful…even in my sweats lol. Dianne doesn’t do commercial advertising…but that’s what word of mouth is for! I only endorse people I use & am happy with. Book your appt now ladies.

P.S. This is how private & reserved she is, I had no idea she was being featured in a magazine. Congrats Dianne, you deserve this recognition ❤️
