I have been fascinated with home improvement and construction since I was a kid. I also greatly enjoy starting and growing companies beginning at age 13, when started my first (A landscaping company, Kick Grass Landscaping, I grew and later sold). Since then I have started or help start 8 companies across a range of industries. Using technological advancements as enabling tools can present a very unique opportunity to make life easier for all. After getting my masters from the Sloan School at M.I.T., I went on a mission, helping start companies in everything from biotech, to medical devices, to computer hardware, to wearable sensors. Finally, I decided it was time to connect data, technology and the world of residential real estate, creating House quarters to be the single stop for everything and anything related to residential real estate. From brokering, to insurance, to home improvement and maintenance, to condo management, we provide everything you could possibly need related to your home.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Of Course! Adapting to customer and business needs have been most challenging. I have had to teach myself how to code, rebuild tools and solutions, and even get out on site to fill in gaps and do the actual construction work myself! Also, there are a lot of rules and regulations when you are trying to provide such a robust service in real estate. I have had to obtain almost a half dozen licenses and certifications from the state over the last 2 years to make sure we were complying with all the rules. Finding great skilled tradesman can also be challenging, but we have started to offer business-operations and marketing services for them as well, which provides a win-win for everyone. Also, being creative with finances to make a dollar stretch further.

We also offer free and paid options for smaller condo association management, great for sub 15 unit properties, and self-managed properties.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I look for opportunities where I can act as an enabler to make life easier for others or help them achieve their goals. In previous ventures, it has been more around helping scientists translate their lab ideas into real world solutions that will help people. Now, it is trying to make homeownership easier for everyone. The more people who can own a home, the more wealth they will personally generate, and the more comfortably they will be able to live, and the easier life will be for them. Ultimately I am successful if I help great people succeed.
