Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Giachetti.
Daniel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
From the very beginning, I started out in a musical family. I remember singing in the church choir at a very young age. My brother and sister both played instruments through jr high and high school as did I. Instruments such as the saxophone, drums, trumpet, guitar, and flute to name a few, between us all. I would go back and forth between drums and guitar for the most part. I’ve always had a burning desire to do music in some form. Especially digital music when it made its appearance to me. I would later begin to write lyrics, Hip-hop mostly. I was always doing something in music for a few years then switching to something else. I struggled a lot with confidence, acceptance, stage fright, etc. I had trouble figuring out life, to say the least. I stopped music for a while and joined the Army some years after 9/11. I got out in 2011 and by that time had made bounds and leaps in leadership and confidence. I was also the proud father of a precious baby girl born in 2009. I would also have a second in 2014. And not having time to do music, only to listen to it, while in the service. I missed it, I knew I wanted to eat, sleep and live it again. I used my GI benefits to go to school for audio production and received and Associate Degree from NEIA in Brookline, MA. While in school I worked with companies such as PSAV and The Pyramid Hotel Group, as well as freelanced studio production and live event gigs. I indulged myself in the industry. (Very difficult to do as a father of two!) In a short 4-5 years, I was Audio/Banquet Manager for Marriot hotel under Pyramid Hotel Group. I was DJ’ing on the side, doing Audio Visual work. I was advancing many skills at one time whenever I had even five minutes.
Unfortunately, I was in a car accident, my vehicle was totaled and I lost my job. I went through physical therapy and all that jazz as well. I worked for other companies over the next seven months as an office manager, making phone calls and doing the business aspect of things. Great experience! But I didn’t want to work for someone else. I met a new friend and now partner in crime, Steve Manning. Come to find out we actually went to the same school, but just missed each other. So we immediately made a personal connection. He was also a DJ so that was another thing in common. Together over months, we developed our friendship and we worked on the Idea for the business and marketing and websites and all that boring stuff. We took what little money we had and began purchasing the equipment we didn’t already have to start an entertainment business. Weddings, sweet 16’s, anniversaries, graduations, proms. You name it. We do it. By November of 2016 we were ready to open for business, so gaining clients and making face in the industry was our main focus. So I just quit my job one day when we were ready to open for business. I began to find events within the industry to get our selfs out there, and that’s when we met Mike Amado, Owner of Entertainment Specialists. His company is the preferred vendor for many of Boston’s top venues such as Fenway Park, New England Aquarium, Museum of Science, Park Plaza, The Ritz, etc. We showed up to the event early and had the chance to meet Mike and talk with him for a bit. We set up a few meetings together and the rest is History. Now we are represented by Entertainment Specialists and shattering our initial expectations! In the short version, that’s where we are today and how we got here.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, not at all. I personally have met with many obstacles in my lifetime in various different forms and I know Steve has as well. Without telling too much, what I can say is this. Life isn’t about the struggles you face, but how you face them. Perception is everything, so what you label something will have an effect on how you handle a given situation. Are you treating it as then end of the world, or is it just an inconvenience to you on your way to success. And success by the way I believe is a choice as far as what success is to an individual.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing. This is because of how I view a problem. I don’t label them as problems anymore. I label them as lessons. Whether it be knowledge of what I shouldn’t do or what I should do, it is a lesson none the less. I haven’t always thought like this. But change is inevitable.
