Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Corliss.
Nicole, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Well, it all started a few years back when my boss Noelle Carpenter at Noelle Day Spa, who owned Cosmix also, called me on a Friday and offered me an admin job at Cosmix and needed an answer by Monday! So I went for it! That quickly turned into a manager’s position. Then in the summer of 2016 she called me once again to ask if I wanted to purchase the school. So I thought about for a couple of months then in September we started the process of getting the necessary paperwork and documents together. I purchased the school at the end of December then we closed for holiday break and when we returned in January I was the owner.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has certainly had its ups and downs. I am lucky to be blessed with a great staff of teachers who each have at least 20 years or more experience. Who by the way are all woman. I am also very lucky to have Noelle & Paul from Salon Success Consulting Services to help with many questions along the way. We slowdown in the summer months so trying to juggle schedules with the staff, students, payments and the budget were definitely a challenge.
Cosmix School of Beauty Sciences – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a Cosmetology School, Nail School and Aesthetics School. We teach more then to the state board as my instructors take great pride in their work. We also offer flexible class scheduling which is rare. I’m proud to say some amazing students graduate from Cosmix.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Having the balls (can I say that, no I need a better way to say that) to take a leap of faith and take a chance on Cosmix and myself!!
