Meet Corinne Morahan of Grid + Glam

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corinne Morahan.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Corinne. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After college, I worked in finance in New York City for a number of years, before getting a Master’s in Higher Education. I worked in the education sector for a few years, before ultimately returning to finance. Organizing has been a constant thread woven through both my professional and personal lives – especially after having kids.

Starting an organizing business is something I have toyed with off an on for years. Organizing has always been a passion and hobby of mine, and really, my major source of stress release. As a result, I had been reluctant to turn it into a business. People continually reach out to me to help them with their organization needs.

As our lives get busier, it seems like people’s needs to get organized continue to increase. I decided that now was the perfect time to start this business. The reception has been amazing and I have loved it every day since launching.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have been my own biggest hurdle. Taking the leap into entrepreneurship and leaving a more conventional career path is never easy. There are little challenges every day and there is certainly a huge learning curve. But I love the process of building a business and it is so rewarding helping my clients and people who have been reaching out from afar.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Grid + Glam – what should we know?
Grid + Glam is a hands-on professional organizing company. Our goal is to help our clients live a more organized, inspired life because we believe an organized home equals a calm mind. Our philosophy is to marry aesthetics with functionality. Grid + Glam helps to not only organize your space but also reorganize how you go about your day.

We offer coaching services for people who need a little push to get the ball rolling in their lives. We are a judgment-free zone and pride ourselves on empowering our clients.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I think to run an effective business with no roadmap, you have to be persistent and curious. The single most important quality to be an effective professional organizer is to be compassionate.

It is a very intimate process to let someone into your home and dissect how you live and think. It is so important to be non-judgemental and to really try to understand each client’s personal hurdles.
