Meet Connie Nye Clark of The Perfect Plan in Northshore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Connie Nye Clark.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started in the hospitality industry in my teenage years working in restaurants and for event venues. I have worked in catering in sales and event management and also as a venue manager for hotels and other unique event properties. I started my company in 2000 after realizing that I wanted to offer more to clients and utilize my creative gifts to plan weddings. I believe the catering background and the years of experience learning each and every aspect of event production have been very beneficial to The Perfect Plan’s success. We have a passion for planning events and combined with the knowledge we have gained, have been able to offer excellent services and resources to our clientele. Over the years we have added great planners to the staff and have evolved into several areas throughout New England.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The path has been long, hard and has presented many challenges along the way. Staying on top of trends and market changes has you constantly staying on your toes and consistently coming up with new and innovative ways to plan events. Social Media sensation has stretched us as well with trying to keep up with the tech-savvy brides and clients, we have had to reinvent our processes of planning and staying on top of the competition. Hours are long and can be tedious as a small business owner you need to learn to balance family, personal life and the high demands that the event industry can place upon you.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with The Perfect Plan – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
The Perfect Plan is founded on integrity, honesty, and meticulous care and attention to the needs of our clients. Each client is different, has different service needs and we are good at evolving our styles and concepts to fit those specific needs. We have gained recognition for our tented event expertise, our relationships with venues and vendors, and our desire and passion for hospitality. The key ingredient to our success has been that ultimate devotion, passion, and professionalism, by not only myself but my entire team of amazing and talented women.

We are proud of our client reviews, worked hard to earn those and also the award recognitions we have received in the industry from both client and vendors alike.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are now exclusive to a resort on the Cape for all the weddings which is something that has grown the business strong on the Cape, We would like to expand that growth to Vermont as I have a heart for that place just like the Cape. I love to explore new areas, new ideas, and new locations. I love to network and build relationships with great vendors so that is something we plan on doing in the future.

With my love of catering, I have become the exclusive event planner for Chapin’s Catering on Cape Cod and being a part of that has only enhanced the business. I am excited to be part of helping their clientele create a great experience for their special day.

We will continue to be a part of the internship program at Endicott and I have a big heart and passion to assist these young interns in achieving and learning everything possible about being an event planner. One of my favorite things about The Perfect Plan is the amazing interns I get to spend time with each year!
