Christine, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up around a friend’s family that had a salon and from then I gravitated to the industry. After working in corporate America I left on maternity leave and knew if I was going to work after having my son it needed to be something I truly loved.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Never. If the road was smooth it wouldn’t be any fun. Job applicant pool is always a challenge. We need people who are technically strong but also understand we are in customer service and need to go above and beyond every day.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Pyara Spa and Salon – what should we know?
We are a full service wellness based salon and spa. We specialize in Aveda products and services that are ayurvedic inspired. I am most proud of the team I have and how amazing they can be. We stay strong to our mission and support each other. Guests regularly comment on how comfortable our locations feel, that everyone works together.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I always look to my father for support and I am lucky to have to GM’s, Donny, and Steven that are so in line with my vision. They are all a huge part of the success of the business.
