Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Sullivan.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Chris. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started installing flooring as a helper at 23 in Charles river park in Boston, getting the start I needed for my career. I then moved on to subcontracting and started installing flooring in the Haverhill area for the past 33 years. When the store I was employed at was sold and the owner retired, he refused to sell me the store, I decided to go out on my own and opened my own store. Being the head installer for 33 years at my former store, I knew I had the ambition, knowledge and vast experience to run a successful flooring store. Today, my two sons have entered the business, turning it into a very successful family business. We offer a large display of Hardwood, Laminate, linoleum, and carpet flooring at wholesale prices, come on in for a quote today!!!
Has it been a smooth road?
Starting a new business is always hard, lack of money, people walking in the door, finding the right employees.
As a family man, being married for 35 years, I guess I am most proud that my sons have decided to join my store, turning it into a family business.
What role has luck (good luck or bad luck) played in your life and business?
Being an Irish, my wife cannot believe how lucky I can be at times, things just seem to fall into my lap at times. However, starting this business has nothing to do with luck. It was all hard work.
