Meet Brooke Trisolini

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Trisolini.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I’ve always loved photography. I knew from a young age that photography was what I wanted to do with my life. I started taking photography courses throughout middle school and into high school and then decided to go to college for it.

I went to the School of Visual Arts where I earned my BFA in Photography & Video. While in college, I combined my 2 passions; dance and photography. I started photographing dancers (mostly ballerinas) on the streets of NYC and fell in love with the art form. This past summer I interned at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival as the photography intern where my love for dance grew even stronger. After Jacob’s Pillow, I applied for an internship at Boston Ballet and I was offered the position!! Working for Boston Ballet has always been a dream of mine and I’m so excited to be working with such an incredible company.

My ultimate goal is to work for various ballet companies around the world. I love photographing performances and I love the thrill of not knowing what is going to be next and not knowing what to expect within each performance.

Please tell us about your art.
The inspiration for my art came from growing up as a gymnast and a dancer. I was always in the gym or the studio,
moving from one place to the other. About two years ago, I decided to combine both of my passions: dance & photography.

What intrigues me the most about dance is the way that every dancer narrates a story through a series of movement. I have always been fascinated by how each dancer moves within a space in their own way.

We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
Instagram is an amazing place for connecting with other artists. I have met so many amazing people through Instagram!!

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
My Instagram is where most of my work lives! @brooketrisoliniphoto
