Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna (Bri) Landry.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Brianna (Bri). So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Ever since I can remember, I have had my hands in something creative. Jewelry making was always a hobby of mine throughout my childhood, but it did not present itself as my purpose until I reached my late teens.
After the passing of a dear friend—a beautiful, free-spirited soul with a burning passion to live life to its greatest potential—my view on life changed. Was I living out my true purpose? What is my purpose? How can I inspire others to live out their true purpose? I was challenged to dig deep within.
On the journey to find the answers to those questions, I turned to meditation, crystal healing and jewelry making as my form of therapy and self-exploration. Through these practices, my soul sets a fire. I had never felt more alive, more full of inspiration, more ready to take control of my own destiny.
I knew exactly what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. From there on, I promised myself that I would live my life with purpose and make this dream a reality.
I taught myself new techniques of jewelry making and ran with it. I didn’t have a plan, I didn’t know where it would take me, I simply trusted my abilities and here I am today.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I can’t say that I would be where I am if it weren’t for the obstacles and challenges that I have faced. Each of those experiences has given me the opportunity to grow as both, a creative and a business. When things don’t work out, I take them as blessings in disguise.
I have learned to accept things as they come, go with the flow and not fight fate. Many of my struggles stem from working a corporate job while running a full-time business. Being a one-woman show wearing many different hats to run this business, time is everything.
While Universal by Nature has been growing from the start, I felt it was necessary to maintain my corporate job for financial security. Now that business is picking up at a faster rate, I am gearing up to make a much-needed change in the career department which will benefit both, myself and my business.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Universal by Nature – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Universal by Nature: A token and reminder that through nature, we are infinitely connected.
Universal by Nature is my creative outlet to share knowledge of the greater and higher power we often refer to as the “unknown”. Using natural, semi-precious gemstones in my designs is my gateway to introduce a lifestyle and belief system to those that are in need emotional healing, assistance with self-growth, self-awareness and inspiration to increase one’s overall well-being.
My designs are inspired by–you guessed it–the universe and all things in nature. While I do incorporate trendy styles, I like to veer off track and introduce unique “conversation” pieces. My goal for each of the wearers of UBN is to create a ripple effect of positivity, sharing knowledge, inspiring others to look inward, to find their purpose and LIVE it.
I have been in business for three years and reached a point where I knew I had to take my next step forward. I was outgrowing the way I was conducting business—online and setting up at markets/fairs/festivals under a 10×10 tent.
Being actively involved in many events in the area, I began noticing the increased presence of not only food trucks, but mobile business in general. I knew that was the direction I needed to go in. Without a single hesitation, I purchased a 1969 travel trailer.
After six months of gutting it out and completely renovating it from top to bottom, Universal by Nature’s Wandering Boutique came to life. I will now pop up all over the state and surrounding areas at local events, both private and public, for all of your jewelry needs!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Since this will be my first year operating a business out of the wandering boutique, I plan to stay local. Once the new year hits, I plan to dive solely into the business, leave the corporate world behind and hit the road with the boutique.
I plan to travel cross country and take part in markets and festivals in major cities along my travels. My heart will always remain in RI and I plan to own a brick and mortar here once I am ready to start a family. While I’m young, the gyspy life is the life for me. And what better way to experience all this country has to offer than to live my dream while doing so.
I will also be introducing a Bridal line. I have had a high demand for bridesmaids pieces in the past year and decided to dedicate a part of UBN to the brides-to-be and their bride tribe! From hair pieces to earrings, necklaces, and bracelets.
All orders are custom made to fit the aesthetic and color scheme of the wedding. More details will be announced once the new line is released.
