Meet Bill Stanitsas of Hollywood East Talent in Woburn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bill Stanitsas.

Bill, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I always had a love for acting and filmmaking. I began acting and directing on short films with my video camera in Boston at age 15. When I was 20 I decided to move to Los Angeles California to pursue this as a career. While I pursued working as an actor in Hollywood, I also began writing and directing his own productions. As I got older and more experienced, I worked in casting, talent management, production offices where I learned all sides of the business. The last couple years before moving back to Boston, I started working as an acting coach. Actors really loved my style of helping them take their acting to the next level. Since I moved back a few years ago, I knew I wanted to help others that were like me starting out in Boston. So that it was what prompted me to open my own casting office and actors training center.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Well in the entertainment business, there is no such thing as a smooth road. Struggles are a part of it. Most the struggles derive from your always looking for the next project, regardless if you’re a top studio exec, or a beginner actor. There is no such thing as job security. So you truly have to love it.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Hollywood East Talent – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
So it’s almost 2 businesses in one. With the casting office I provide all productions, Film, commercials, TV, print, etc., with the talent they need. The other part is the acting classes. The casting business is for everyone, not just students. This is why I say they are different. What makes me proud is I truly put the actors first. I don’t have subscribe to some online site where they have to pay money. I do things the way casting directors used to by building my own database. I like meeting actors to learn what their strengths are. This way I know who to send for which role and not just do cattle calls or tell clients to sift through a ton of online portfolios.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I think there is definitely room to grow with all aspects of my business.
