Meet Anthony and Karen Massahos of Karen4Elders in Windham and Derry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony and Karen Massahos.

Karen has been involved in Elder care as a LPN for 45 years. She wanted to continue to provide her services in her own Assisted Living Residence. We acquired Pine Hill Assisted Living in 2015 and expanded in 2016 with the addition of Beaver Lake Lodge.

We offer a total of 32 private rooms and a specialized service for each resident t. Our residents come from all over new England.

Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been as easy as one would think. We had to first acquire the Pine Hill location and perform long overdue renovations. Additionally, there were residents that needed to be moved to other facilities to better provide for their medical needs. At the same time, we decided to build the second facility in Derry NH to give us the additional space we needed to accomplish our goal of completely renovating Pine Hill in Windham NH

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Karen4Elders story. Tell us more about the business.
We provide a homelike atmosphere for our residents. Our services include; meals, laundry, housekeeping, medication, bathing and personal assistance. We also offer love and compassion at no additional charge

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Our population is aging rapidly and lifespans extended. There is a greater need for services on a daily basis. Elder Care takes new challenges as we go forward.
