Meet Andy McLlarky of Soul Physical Therapy in Beverly

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andy McLlarky.

Andy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I sought to become a physical therapist after getting injured playing baseball in high school and going through PT myself. PT is a rewarding career to be able to help others return to what they want to do.

I started out as a staff PT quickly moved to manager for another practice. I found that I enjoyed both treating patients and learning how to grow a business. When the opportunity presented itself I found a great business partner and we went out on our own.

I love to learn equally about how I can become an excellent practitioner and how I can best grow our business to help others and my family.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I would say hard work makes the road as smooth as it can be. Finding the right team to balance out your strengths and weaknesses is a must to succeed. Sometimes it takes a while to find the right fit for people on the boat and to play everyone to their strengths.

I am fortunate that at Soul Physical Therapy we have a great team of PTs and support staff with like-minded goals which makes it easier for me to drive the ship.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Soul Physical Therapy – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Our company is Soul Physical Therapy. We are an outpatient orthopedic physical therapy practice located within the Beverly Athletic Club. We offer individualized treatment plans that center around education, manual therapy and exercise to help decrease pain, build confidence and movement resiliency.

Our therapists have advanced training in dry needling. We have advanced training in the treatment of runners. Our therapists have a vast knowledge of exercise and manual therapy techniques to help patients as efficiently and effectively as possible.

We are trained in the best ways to deal with acute pain as well as more persistent symptoms.

We utilize blood flow restriction training to help our patients get stronger quicker with less strain on healing tissues.

Soul Physical Therapy offers one on one aquatic physical therapy in a warm, salt water pool.

Our patients get access to the award winning Beverly Athletic Club even on days they don’t have treatment to keep their recovery going. Child care is also available in the club if needed.

Soul Physical Therapy also offers Corporate Wellness programs. We currently have one program going and have saved that company hundreds of thousands of dollars and helped improve employee health and wellbeing.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We look to solidify our position as the best PT practice in Beverly as assessed by Readers Digest and grow to be the best practice in the North Shore.

We look to bring the corporate wellness model we are doing to other locations. This will help employers save money and help employees stay healthy.
