Meet Andrew Green of Auto Park in Worcester

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Green.

Andrew, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Auto Park started just over 4 years ago in a shop about 300 sq. ft., with a few friends, a few nice cars, and plenty of laughs! We did it because we loved cars, we loved working on them, fixing them, making them back to the way they came from factory if not better, we always found a way to do it even if the shop was small. After about 6 months of a few people working late nights until 3am if not later, all while having a full time job. work picked up, people started to hear about me and my work, name got around the city and I realized I needed more room, after talking to my landlord, he agreed to give me more of the shop and he would move out which gave me almost 5000 sq. ft., within 2 weeks the shop was full, I was still working full time at another shop down the road from me and coming here at 5pm and working as late as I could, and sometimes I slept here to make sure my customers cars got completed on time if not early.

After a few months I quit my full-time job and began full time running my business, and I’ve never looked back, we have had our ups and downs just like any small business, but with my wife, family and friends supporting me always, we got through it, somedays we didn’t think we would, but someone was looking over our shoulders and helped push us through!

Now we are just over 4 years in, and everything is strong, our work comes from referrals, I don’t agree with advertisement as in big billboards, or shoving salesman down your throat. I take the time to talk to every customer that pops in or calls on the phone, I listen and understand what they go through when they have car problems, because when I first met my wife she got messed around constantly with other shops, I made a promise to myself and her I would always be honest and fair, I’ve stuck to that promise and it has paid off with the amount of work I have received, people contact me asking how I have a 5 star rating on both Facebook and Yelp, my response is always the same, “honesty”

Has it been a smooth road?
PERMITS PERMITS PERMITS, you don’t realize how many you need in order to open a body shop, one of my biggest setbacks was getting closed for 3 1/2 weeks due to a sprinkler head inside the paint booth, it was horrible, I was not allowed to even enter the shop until it was sorted out by another local company in the area, after many permits later and $11,500 I was able to re-open the doors and get back to it.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Auto Park – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My company will take on any challenge, we are not afraid to fix or customize anything for the customer, we have done complete restorations on old cars and complete restorations on old motorcycles, as of now my shop is known for some of the older cars that surround the showroom, including the bikes
