Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Hurley and Tony Mascarin.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
For years, Tony and I talked about opening a bar together. At the time, I was the manager of the bar currently located at this location and Tony had a consulting company.
Unexpectedly, the bar I was managing closed, without notice. Approximately two weeks after it closed, I called Tony and asked if he really wanted to open a business together. Without hesitation, he said yes.
We had a meeting, developed a concept for the bar and spoke about what we each envisioned. Together we agreed we needed to be “the neighborhood bar where everyone knows everyone”. Almost, like Cheers.
Today, we are that bar. Friends are made here, relationships nurtured. We are the only sports bar in Acton featuring five large screen TVs. Mondays we have live trivia, Tuesdays are $5 burger nights and Friday we feature fresh local fish for dinner.
Has it been a smooth road?
We have hit some bumps in the road. Dealing with the local and state agencies to obtain our licensing was difficult at times. Staffing is always a challenge in this industry. However, the struggles only served to make us more determined.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Holy Grail story. Tell us more about the business.
Our goal at the Holy Grail is to serve top quality, homemade meals. The quality and presentation of our food is a high priority. Customers have walked in the door and stated I heard you have the best burgers in town or the best wings. We have 20 draught lines, many of which pour local craft beers.
We are proud of the business we are building. Our goal is to continue building the business while maintaining an establishment where people feels like they’re in their own living room hanging out with their closest friends.
