Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Veseskis.
Amanda, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was hired in early 2010 to grow the Copley Place branch for Currency Exchange International (headquartered in Orlando, FL). The Copley Place branch was less than a year young during this time. Although I was only 21 with little management experience, Currency Exchange International believed in my skills as a young professional and took a chance with me to grow this new branch. By word of mouth and creating referral relationships with local banks and hotels, we were able to grow our branch into a successful, well-known exchange for locals and tourists in the Boston area.
Almost 8 years later, we as a team have not only grown our Copley Branch effectively but added many retail locations across the country. I now look over the Mid-Atlantic and New England Branches as a Regional Manager. I look forward to enjoying many more years with Currency Exchange International and our customers!
Has it been a smooth road?
Usually, on the way to success, you hit a few bumps. The key is to accept, learn and grow from those obstacles. You have to keep your confidence along the way and know great things take time.
Working remotely from Boston was the initial challenge. I did not have a direct supervisor in the branch to turn too if I needed help. However, CXI was extremely helpful and supportive remotely.
They gave me the knowledge and guidance to make the management, marketing, and operational choices for the branch that we saw fit for growth. Word of mouth marketing was the biggest challenge personally. Creating relationships with local businesses can be fun, but challenging.
However, when given the opportunity to freestyle ideas, an individual can really sparkle.
