Meet Allie Reveley of Allie Photo in Chelmsford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allie Reveley.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Ever since I was young I was always “the artsy one.” I have loved photography for as long as I could remember and also love working with people. After college and starting a career, I always has creative hobbies, in hopes that someday I could be my own boss.

I started photographing weddings alongside my best friend, Laura Wagner Photography, in 2008. I learned so much and started falling in love with the couples, the love stories, and the creativity. I then began photographing friends and family as much as I could until I knew it was time to start my own business in 2013.

The last five years have been so rewarding. I was able to quit my day job at a school and focus on launching my photography business and doing what I love – which is serving people and providing them with the best possible photography experience!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest challenges in the beginning was defining my “brand and style.” Finding what the “it factor” that will set me apart from many other photographers when a client is making their decision. I have worked a lot to clarify my style and branding.

As a mom of three boys the other struggle has been balancing family life and my expanding career. I had to take a lot of time for reflection as to what was most important and how to define “success.” With the help of a great group of creatives, The Rising Tide Society, and an awesome business coach I am finding balance!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Allie Photo – what should we know?
I specialize in photographing people who love life as much as I do! I love to create colorful, joyful, and bright images that reflect the happiness people have when they are together. I love to photograph weddings and get to know my couples on a personal level to follow their family story.

When people are looking for someone to capture their big day, from engagement to newborn baby and their growing family – I love being the photographer for them!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The most important quality is not comparing yourself to anyone else. When you can define your own success and “do you” – satisfaction will come.
